E-signature software receives perfect score in JITC interoperability testing

Montreal, January 31, 2002 - Silanis Technology's electronic signature and approval management software, ApproveIt® Desktop 5 with DoD PKI Support (v 5.22), scored 100 per cent on each of the 310 Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) Interoperability compliance tests performed by the US Department of Defense (DoD) Joint Interoperability Test Command (JITC) from November 14 - 27, 2001. With its zero failure rate, ApproveIt Desktop is fully compliant with the interoperability requirements of the DoD PKI.

"JITC testing ensures that the products deployed at the agency-level are able to leverage the DoD's PKI initiative," explains R. Michael Green, Director of the Defense Department's Public-Key Infrastructure Program Management Office. "By fielding PKI-enabled applications that streamline approvals and respect the DoD's digital signature policy, Army personnel will benefit from simplified, yet secure electronic processes."

The JITC tests certify that ApproveIt Desktop meets a number of criteria, such as the ability to:

  • Accept digital certificates from the DoD PKI;
  • Import DoD PKI keys and certificates;
  • Verify the status of the certificate maintained on DoD databases, including certificate path building and processing as well as CRL (Certificate Revocation List) checking;
  • Communicate with databases using the Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP).
