(MONTREAL) – May 26, 2015e-SignLive™ by Silanis, the e-signature choice for government organizations, today announced that the Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL), has contracted with e-SignLive cloud e-signature service to implement an end-to-end digital e-contracting process. JPL is a federally funded research and development facility managed by the California Institute of Technology.

JPL processes a significant number of contracts across its 10,000 vendors ranging from low value purchase orders to multi-million dollar contracts, which can at times contain thousands of pages and require up to six signatures. Like many organizations that are looking to improve the contracting process, JPL implemented e-contracting to reduce the time and cost associated with paper – a time savings of between two and six weeks simply to secure internal approvals before securing external signatures from contractors.

Since integrating e-SignLive, JPL has been able to reduce the contracting process period down to a few days and enabled a digital end-to-end contracting process. In automating its contracting process, JPL has also made it possible for its procurement team to handle additional contracts, speeding up the ability to launch and complete projects.

Because of its flexible deployment options, e-SignLive offers the capability to choose on-premise deployment for data control and tight integration with Microsoft OneNote and Microsoft SharePoint, enabling easy indexing and archiving of e-signed contracts. e-SignLive has had extensive experience with large paperless contracting implementations at government organizations, such as the U.S. Joint Chiefs of Staff finance group for acquisition processing, and the General Services Administration e-Offer system.

The value of e-SignLive in the e-contracting process is the e- solution’s robust security features, providing superior protection by capturing both document- and process-level evidence, as well as a full audit trail that is embedded and travels with the document. This translates into an organization’s ability to securely sign, store and reproduce additional proof of what took place during the signing ceremony should a dispute ever arise.

In addition to e-SignLive’s strong legal protection, the company has also completed the Service Organization Control (SOC) 2 attestation, which is among the highest standard for cloud security and data protection.

“e-SignLive has been the e-signature solution of choice for U.S. government organizations for the past 15 years – we have more than 500 government agencies and departments using the service, marking the longest running and largest implementations of e-signatures worldwide,” said e-SignLive CEO Tommy Petrogiannis. “Our extensive use by government organizations and throughout their partner ecosystems is a testament to the security and reliability of our solution, and the fact that our solution enables organizations like JPL to securely e-contract helps encourage innovation and speed up internal processes.”
